Paço dos Cunhas: the new pearl gourmet Give?

Before you enter the room and discover the novelties created for the colder season that lies ahead of us by the chef Henrique Ferreira, you may want to stroll through the history of the magnificent space where is the restaurant the Palace of the Wedges and, of course, discover the wines of excellence that there are produced.

Tells the story that the restaurant is built in a solar of the SEVENTEENTH and EIGHTEENTH century, built in 1609, and surrounded by lovely gardens that lead harmoniously visitors to the caves that retain the famous wines of this house. By the way there is to pay attention to the estate very valuable pieces of decoration and to the secular architecture, superbly preserved.

After that, it is time to enter the room and discover that the house has to offer. The creations of Henrique Ferreira leading the Give to the table, but also to the small gardens, the producers selected and will surprise you at every moment of the meal. The best way to discover all that is hidden in the kitchen is through the two tasting menusthat pay homage to the house and to the story. The “Menu Santar” (€25), begins with “Pea, Gem 60ºC, Shiitake and Ham” and is accompanied by “QDOE Sparkling wine Gross”. The following is the “Cheek of Pork and sweet Potatoes” with the“Casa de Santar Tinto” and the “Milk Cream “Moscatel” with the “Lecture” Moscatel” the track.

Already the menu “Menu Paço dos Cunhas” (€33), starts with “Scallop, Turnip and Beet” and with a “Cabriz Sparkling Crude”dare a “Woodpecker Pork Bísaro” accompanied by a “Cabriz Touriga Nacional White” that precedes the “salt Cod, chickpeas, Mayonnaise, Parsley, Sautéed greens Powder and Olive” that comes to the table with the “Cabriz Reserva White”. The dessert takes the suggestive name of “the Formula of Our Childhood”, is served with a “QDOE Sparkling wine Medium Dry” is a true trip to the past.

In the restaurant the Palace of the Wedges there is, of course, the option to the letter, also filled with bold proposals. In the entries let us take you by the “Sardine, Peppers and Bread” (€6) or by the “only policeman, Roasted Tomatoes, Aromas of Stew and Powder Lobster” (€15). In fish there is “Corvina of Peniche, and the Water of Tomatoes and Vegetables Glaciados” (€18) and in meats is the “Fillet of Veal, Aligot Cheese Serra, Wild Mushrooms” (€20). The restaurant Paço dos Cunhas (Largo do Paço, 28, Santar, Tel. 232 945 452) only opens for lunch during the week (closed on Monday) and serves dinner only Saturday, and it is recommended booking in advance. For you to experience a more intense take on the challenge and “Stay In the Hands Of the Chef”. Henrique Ferreira gives the choose menus with 3 Portions (€25), 4 Servings (€33) or 5 Servings (€45), always with true surprises, usually outside of the menu, the flavour of the days of the harvest and of the creativity of the head.
