Restaurant Hápetite, a new table of the algarve in Faro
Opened in the first days of August, so as to give the welcome to all who seek to the Algarve for a few days of rest. Goes by the name of Hápetite and is located in a historic building in the centre of Faro close to the marina. The space has been fully recovered and refurbished in order to offer a variety of environments, from a bar area to the restaurant. Informal, but at the same time sophisticated, the restaurant Hápetite (Rua da Misericórdia, 40, Faro. Tel. 912000400) bet on the flavours of the algarve, but with a “helping hand” in Italian. The letter is signed by Augusto Gemelli, the well-known Italian chef who for nearly two decades, started to work in Portugal (who remembers the restaurant Gemelli, in the Assembly of the Republic?)
The menu is divided into three parts, one for lunch, the dishes are fixed for each day of the week, another, more elaborate, for dinner and still the offer available throughout the opening hours of the restaurant, that is, between noon and midnight. Such as “Today I want to stay light,” the menu suggests three salads: cheese Salad dry, roasted tomatoes, pumpkin grilled and pevides (€7); Salad of grilled cod, orange, cucumber, olives (€9) and Salad roast chicken, corn, tomato and watercress (€8). Still for those looking for vegetarian dishes a week makes parading proposals such as Couscous and lentils with tomato in the Algarve (€8) potato Pie-sweet and fresh flavours of the vegetable garden (€8) or Risotto with pumpkin, bell pepper and cheese dry in the algarve (€9). At lunch, from Monday to Friday, the kitchen of the restaurant Hápetite features three-course fixed daily, highlighting the Rice economy (€10), at the beginning of the week, Kebab Chuck Round grilled with special sauce “HAPETITE” (€12), on Tuesday, Lulinha steamed to Monchique, the fourth (€12), the Cataplana squid (€12), to the fifth, and the Ham and roasted pork in the oven of the coal with an emulsion of olives, pennyroyal (€13), to the Friday.
The dinner menu consists of eight dishes fixed “the sea and The earth…” deserving reference to the Cod in the oven with a crust of crab and cream garlic, sweet and pennyroyal (€14), the Belly of tuna in the stone with a “pesto” of broad beans and roasted peppers (€19), the tiger Shrimp cast in the furnace of coal with açordinha seafood (€21) and the beef Tenderloin (190 g) gratin with goat cheese and tomatada rustic (€16).
“At any time”, the kitchen prepares appetizers and snacks assorted: Pastel de bacalhau com grão (€2,50), roasted Peppers with emulsion of mint and oregano (€3,50), Muffin cheese in the algarve and sausages (€3,50) and poached Egg with black pudding chips, and Arjamolho (€3,50). Other options are the Belly of tuna alimada (€9) and the stuffed Crab (€19), even though the big bet of the restaurant Hápetite are the casseroles, presented here in three versions (between €13 and €17): “Ria”, with clams and mussels, “Mariscada”, with shrimp and crab, and “The Fifth”, with pork, sausage and sausages. The Hápetite does not close and is open every day between 12.00 and 00.00 hours (Thursday to Saturday until 2: 00 a.m.). The sweet tooth should sample the Cake almond ice-cream from figs and almonds , or the “Azevia” grain with whipped cream of lemon and cinnamon. There is appetite!
