Restaurant Salsa and Loureiro, presents “duels to the table”
Cosmopolitan, sophisticated and intimate, so also is the restaurant Salsa and Loureiro, installed at the Porto Palácio Congress Hotel & Spa Avenida da Boavista, 1269. Tel. 226 086 600), that by the hands of chef Álvaro Costa, now has a new life. To inaugurate it is the first dinner that consists of a cycle diner with a monthly periodicity, which extends through all the spaces of the Porto Palace, where the innovation and creativity of the boss promise surprises to the table.
The initiative joins today, 23 February, a duo who stars in the menu of the night: the House of the Valley and St. Matthias. With a vocation for private dinners, parties and other events, the restaurant Salsa and Loureiro thus gives the start of the first of many duels, which combines the brands of wine and gastronomy, and where the winner is always the taste.
The first of many “Duels Unlikely”
To whet your appetite, the menu starts with an appetizer, the House of St. Matthias Give White 2015, followed by the Greeting of the Chef with Ham, azevia, yarn eggs and Jam of red fruits, Home of the Valley with Port served with House Are Matias Give White 2016. As input you will be served a Cream of shitakes, fresh Home from the Valley and Crispy sausage, farófia powder glassworth House of the Valley.
The fish will be represented by the Back of cod in a broth of beans and sausages, vinaigrette, shitake House of the Valley harmonised with Casa de São Matias Dão Red 2015. In meats, the proposal will go to the Wellington iberian pig, caramelized onion with tamarilho House of the Valley, crushed potato and cashew nut sauce with bordalês accompanied by Casa de São Matias Dão reserva Red 2014.
To finish this duel first, Financier chestnut mountain cheese, honey orange Home of the Valley is the last move of the head Álvaro Costa, “married” with the House of St. Matthias Dão Reserva White 2015.

Álvaro Costa is passionate about wine, wine tourism, travel and music, and with a route that includes international cuisine with Michelin stars (in Corsica Hotel Cala-Cossa; Paris Restaurant Le Grand Cascade and Milan’s Bulgari Hotel), he returned to Portugal where he directed spaces such as the Sheraton Porto, the Pestana Group, Hotel Bom Jesus and the Hotel NH Collection. Now the new challenge is in the various kitchens of the Porto Palácio Congress Hotel & Spa.
