With the end of the harvest, now is the time to terminate the work cycle in the vineyard and taste the nectars resulting from other years.
To celebrate the season, the Sofitel has chosen the months of September and October to pay homage to the world of wine, with the annual event at Sofitel Wine Days, which happens at the same time in the 121 hotels in the brand throughout the world with the mission of providing a dining experience whose flavors exalt the characteristics of the best national grape varieties.
Knowledgeable, professional, and curious are, therefore, invited to sit at the table of the restaurant AdLib, at the hotel Sofitel Lisbon Liberdade (Avenida da Liberdade, 127, Lisbon. Tel. 213 228 350) where, by 31 October, the chief Daniel Schlaipfer has prepared a tasting menu (€50 per person) harmonized with wines selected by the winemakers of the producers Lima Mayer, Rozès’ and Wine Concept.
With emphasis on the ingredients of the finest in the Portuguese cuisine and some of the icons in the recipe book French, the parade of five courses starts with marinated Salmon and smoked with mustard sauce, sweet avocado, and horseradish spicy, to which follows a classic Foie gras sautéed with Port wine, grapes, and apple. In the main dishes, the taste of the sea comes with Cod confit with compote of fennel and a sauce of beetroot, and the meat is represented by the Loin of veal with truffle, black, celery and wild mushrooms. This special menu of the restaurant AdLib ends with a Thousand-leaves traditional.
Along the initiative Sofitel Wine Days, the Bar inside the Walls, the mixologistas of the hotel have to expect a selection of cocktails of the author, based on Portuguese wines, which promise to be surprised by the creativity.
