The Lusitano horse: Snacks and sharing at the Coach Museum
The Jardim Afonso de Albuquerque, in the heart of Belém in Lisbon, is one of the freshest, most beautiful and cosmopolitan city. Located right in front of the Belem Palace, home of the highest representative of the Nation, you also receive one of the newest museums in the capital, the National Coach Museum, designed by architect Paulo Mendes da Rocha, who thought the building to be more than a museum, an urban infrastructure that offers the public space to the city.
On the ground floor of the museum the most visited museum in the country recently created the Restaurant Lusitano Horse, a different space, bright and sunny, designed to provide visitors with dining, quiet, open views and healthy meals between friends. The charter, drawn up by chef Alexis Gregório, was created to provide refreshments at the end of the day, long dinners, socializing and sharing and even lunch, quiet with the sun as company.
Thinking about the warm days that are beginning to assert itself, the card of the Restaurant Lusitano Horse suggests an aromatic “Cream Crown” (€2,50), a velvety cream of sweet potato garnished with bacon toast with scent of a sweet herb, or an always fresh salad “Fétone of Vegetables and Cheese” (€7,95) with fresh Cheese, walnut kernels, quinoa, mango, vinaigrette of balsamic and honey, or the “Infante D. António” (€7,95)prepared with Carpaccio of veal with sauce of dijon mustard and honey, arugula, slivers of cheddar cheese and nuts. The “Chariot of Gala” (€8,95) takes fresh tuna breaded in sesame braseado, selection of leaves, cherry tomato and seaweed wakame.
Under the sign of sharing, Alexis Gregory presents in the letter a section of what he called “Snacks Lusitano”, by proposing to split a “Board Selection of Domestic Cheeses” (€12,85), another “Board of Regional Sausages” (€12,85), and a mixture of the two at the same price for appetites varied. Paying homage to the tradition of its national, it also presents a selection of “Canned National”, laced with Olive oil and Herbs (€5,35).
The “Berlins” (€5,85) are another of the proposals of the Restaurant Lusitano Horse and consist of the tasting of mini sandwiches national, with ham, salmon, cod, pork loin, and roast beef, accompanied with chutney of pineapple and mayonnaise passion fruit. Already the “Saloinhos” (€5,85) are Scones, sausage, cod, greaves, cheese from Nisa, oregano and black olives and perfect for a light meal, as well as the “Saladinhas” (€4,75), Octopus, Cod with Beans, Tuna Smoked with Beans.
To meals more consistent, the card of the Restaurant Lusitano Horse presents “Fillets of Cod Confit with sautéed Greens and Potatoes with Olive oil of Herbs” (€10,40), “Pork Cheeks with Mashed Potato, Spinach and Red Wine Sauce”, (€10,40) and a “Ravioli of Pumpkin with Tomato Sauce and Cheese from the Island” (€7,80). The more new can count on a “Lasagna “al Forno” (€7,80).
Finishes way sweet with a “Seat of the Magdalene” (€3,75), which combines a Chocolate mousse and Port Wine, Compote of Red Fruits, Crackers, Digestive, and Flower of salt with Port Wine or so with a “Cavalo Lusitano” (€3,75) made of Popsicle Champagne, coffee, Amarguinha, condensed milk and cream.
