The Michelin guide to 2017: Rain of stars for Portugal
Seven new stars to the national restaurants. This is one of the great novelties of the edition 2017 of the Michelin Guide to Portugal. Soul and Place, in Lisbon, LAB by Sergi Arolaat Penha Longa, Sintra, Tea House of Boa Nova, in Leça da Palmeira, Antiqvvm, in Porto, and William, at Reid’s Palace, Funchal enter for the first time in the prestigious guide. The L’and Vineyards, in Montemor-o-Novo will return to the prize winning back a star.
The Yeatman, in Vila Nova de Gaia, and Il Gallo d’oro, in Funchal conquer for the first time, two stars, joining chefs José Avillez, Hans Neuner and Dieter Koschina.
This year any Portuguese restaurant lost the star.
In total there are 21 awards for Portugal, 26 stars, less than expected in the forecasts that pointed to a duplication of award-winning, but still a year of great achievements.
The Porto was the city that told today with more news and in the Algarve, region where are concentrated more stars of country, everything is in the same.
